DAGPROGRAMMA IN GLOBE AROMA

Op zaterdag vieren we het lichaam en de stoffen die nodig zijn om het lichaam te verhullen of versieren! Er zijn in onze werkplek heel wat mode-, kostuum- en textielontwerpers actief die we tijdens de Summer of Globe graag aan jullie voorstellen. Enkele namen? Tony Bland, Octavio Amos, Andy Wanabo, Salomé Grdzelischvili, Issouf Ilboudo en Salimata Condé. 

Om 15u presenteren we het project Getting Softer dat in het kader van Espace Fxmme ontstond.

Sinds 2020 startte Globe Aroma met Espace Fxmme, een platform voor vrouwelijke/non-binaire kunstenaars en creatievelingen om een veiligere ruimte te creëren in een omgeving die voorheen vooral gedomineerd werd door mannen.

GETTING SOFTER, is een reeks workshops over verschillende textieltechnieken die plaatsvonden op de donderdagbijeenkomsten van Espace Fxmme, met als doel zachtere vormen van gastvrijheid te creëren voor de gemeenschap van Globe Aroma. Vanaf april ontwerpt de groep, gebruikmakend van alle opgedane kennis, een reeks patchwork gordijnen (ook kussens en tapijten) om een zachtere, meer vrouwelijke en vloeiende manier van ruimte creëren en vasthouden in te richten; die van textiel. De elementen zullen worden gebruikt in Globe Aroma, maar belangrijker is dat ze een nomadische ruimte zullen weven, in de vorm van een tent, die rondreist en een veiliger, intieme uitwisselingsruimte biedt aan vrouwen en non-binaire personen in de publieke sfeer, kunstinstellingen en wxmen spaces.

Voor Summer of Globe zal Espace Fxmme voor de eerste keer haar nomadische ruimte in wording installeren, en het publiek uitnodigen om door te gaan met het weven van verhalen, textiel en methodes om samen veiligere ruimtes te creëren. Kom met ons weven en borduren en laat ons de zachtheid omarmen. Deze activiteit toegankelijk voor families. (GRATIS, geen taalprobleem)

Tussen 18u tot 20u is het het moment waarop je kan komen genieten van eten dat door koks van onze community wordt klaargemaakt (aan democratische prijzen). Vandaag kookt Kamal Kawsara Syrisch-Libanees: falafel, Libanese worst, samosa, rijst met linzen en een heerlijke salade.

Om 19u organiseren we een ronde tafelgesprek. Hoe kan je een business model ontwikkelen wanneer je je in een precaire situatie bevindt (financieel, sociaal, psychologisch,…)? We nodigen professionals (MAD, Underwear), beleidsmakers en het publiek uit om samen met lingerie-ontwerper Tony Bland na te denken over creativiteit en innovatief werken binnen beperkte grenzen. Er zijn veel vragen, collectief proberen we te zoeken naar antwoorden. Het ronde tafelgesprek functioneert als een open denktank, omgeven door een scenografie met foto’s van Tony’s werk. Doorheen het hele festival is het bovendien mogelijk om in Tony Bland’s Boutique lingerie te kopen. (Gratis)

Om 21u verandert onze benedenruimte in een intergalactisch universum waar onherkenbare futuristische wezens het van ons overnemen. Het multidisciplinaire collectief WEEW creëert een performance (WE-218-ƎW) die het midden houdt tussen anti-modeshow, theatraal concert en dj-act. (Gratis, geen taalprobleem)

DAY PROGRAM IN GLOBE AROMA

On Saturday, we celebrate the body and the fabrics that are used to dress it up or decorate it! There are many fashion, costume and textile designers active in our workplace that we would like to introduce to you during Summer of Globe. Some names? Tony Bland, Octavio Amos, Andy Wanabo, Salomé Grdzelischvili, Issouf Ilboudo and Salimata Condé.

Since 2020, Globe Aroma started Espace Fxmme, a platform for female/non-binary artists and creatives to create a safer space in an environment that was previously mostly dominated by men.

At 3pm we present the Getting Softer project that was created as part of the Espace Fxmme.

For the Summer of Globe, Espace Fxmme will install for the first time its nomadic space in the making, inviting the audience to continue weaving stories, textiles and methodologies of creating safer spaces together.

GETTING SOFTER, is a series of workshops on different textile techniques that took place on the Thursday meetings of Espace Fxmme, aiming to create softer forms of hospitality for the community of Globe Aroma. From April on, the group, using all the acquired knowledge, is designing a series of patchwork curtains (also cushions and rugs) to furnish a softer, more feminine and fluid way of creating and holding space; that of textile. The elements will be used inside Globe Aroma but more importantly they will weave a nomadic space, in the form of a tent, that will travel around, manifesting and hosting a safer, intimate space of exchange for wxmen and non binary people in the public sphere, art institutions and wxmen spaces.

For the Summer of Globe, Espace Fxmme will install for the first time its nomadic space in the making, inviting the audience to continue weaving stories, textiles and methodologies of creating safer spaces together. Come weave and embroider with us and let us embrace the softness. This activity is accessible to families. (FREE, no language problem)

Between 6pm and 8pm is the time when you can come and taste dishes prepared by cooks from our community (at democratic prices). Today, Kamal Kawsara prepares Syrian-Lebanese dishes: falafel, Lebanese sausage, samosa, lentil rice and a delicious salad.

At 7 pm we will organize a round table discussion. How to develop a business model when you are in a precarious situation (financial, social, psychological,…)? We invite professionals (MAD, Underwear), policy makers and the public to join lingerie designer Tony Bland in thinking about creativity and innovative work within limited boundaries. There are many questions, collectively we try to find answers. The round table discussion functions as an open think tank, surrounded by a scenography with photos of Tony’s work. Throughout the festival it is also possible to buy lingerie in Tony Bland’s Boutique. (FREE)

At 9pm, our downstairs space transforms into an intergalactic universe where unrecognizable futuristic creatures take over from us. The multidisciplinary collective WEEW creates a performance (WE-218-ƎW) that is halfway between anti fashion show, theatrical concert and DJ act. (FREE, no language problem)

At 10pm, DJ Erekle will be playing. Techno and dance away!
