AFA GOES Carte Noir Nommée Désir

Op 15 februari gaat Art For All naar Carte Noire Nommée Désir.

Carte Noire Nommée Désir begint met een grap over kleur en kolonialisme. Het is het begin van een een poëtische reis op scène door een groep van acht performers. Ze eigenen zich hun geschiedenis als zwarte vrouwen toe, in een land dat zijn eigen verbeeldingswereld nog steeds niet gedekoloniseerd heeft.
Tijdens deze reis stellen ze de hyperseksualisering en exotisering van hun lichamen in vraag. Ze gaan onder andere in op hun (on)zichtbaarheid in Frankrijk en het buitenland en hun vervreemding van diens witheid en de koloniale geschiedenis. Carte Noire Nommée Désir poogt te functioneren als performatieve
vorm van empowerment, een werk dat noch de oren noch de ogen spaart.

Carte Noire Nommée Désir starts with a funny story about colour and colonialism. That marks the beginning of a poetic journey on stage by a group of eight performers. They appropriate their own history as black women, in a country that has still not decolonised its own imaginary world.
