DAGPROGRAMMA IN GLOBE AROMA

In ons dagelijks leven communiceren wij op vele manieren. Verbale communicatie is de meest dominante vorm. Al voordat we konden schrijven, hebben we elkaar verhalen verteld. Zo geven we kennis, geschiedenis, overtuigingen en lessen door. Verhalen zijn de manier waarop we delen, ons amuseren en leren, van oudsher tot op de dag van vandaag.

Grappen, zo wordt gezegd, zijn een unieke en veelgelaagde vorm van verbale communicatie. Woorden, in komedie, hebben hun betekenis, evenals vele andere sociale, politieke en culturele verwijzingen en lagen. Maar toch, het is de lach die alle ijs doet smelten en alle muren tussen vreemden doet breken.

Tijdens deze tweede donderdag van Summer of Globe plaatsen we woorden en de lach in het hart van het festival.

De dag begint om 15u met een workshops over kalligrafie door de Iraanse kunstenaar Majid.

Deze workshop organiseren we voor groepen verbonden aan asiel-, migratie-, en opvangorganisaties.Neem contact op via amina@globearoma.be als jij graag voor jouw groep een kennismakingsworkshop reserveert.

Om 17.00 uur wordt de workshop gevolgd door de vertoning van een film ‘L’atelier du calligraphe’, gerealiseerd door Natalia Duque Quintero. Mohamed Hammam, een gepensioneerd kalligraaf, is graag onder de mensen, praat graag, rookt en deelt graag. Hij gaat elke dag naar zijn atelier in het centrum van Cairo om “de jeugd van zijn ziel” te bewaren. Hij en zijn vrienden worden geobserveerd door het prisma van de veranderingen die Caïro door elkaar schudden. Tussen 18u en 20u is het tijd om te -genieten van eten bereid door koks uit onze community (aan democratische prijzen). Vandaag kookt Mimouna Amri rijst met kip, gegrilde groenten en een heerlijke salade.

Vanaf 20.00 uur nodigen we jullie uit voor een meertalige standup comedy avond. ‘Laughter for All’ zal slechts 4 talen gebruiken uit de vele vele talen die in Brussel gesproken worden. We presenteren comedians die vreugde en gelach zullen verspreiden in het Arabisch: Kaoutar Berne, Engels: Délia Tou, Nederlands: Alyce Sevink, Frans: Bénin Imfura, en de stille komedie van Mr. Beige (Barry Cullen). Het optreden wordt gevolgd door een live concert van Kaspy Ndia (21:30 uur).

DAY PROGRAM IN GLOBE AROMA

In our daily life, we communicate in many manners and ways. However, verbal communication is still the most dominant form of communication. Since before we could write, we have told each other stories. It is how we pass on knowledge, history, beliefs and lessons. Stories are how we share, entertain and learn, from times immemorial up to the present day.

Jokes, it is said, are the unique and multilayered form of verbal communication of our species. Words, in comedy, do have their meaning, as well as many other social, political and cultural references and layers. But still, it is laughter that melts all the ice and breaks all the walls between strangers.

During this second Thursday during Summer of Globe we put words and laughter in the heart of the festival.

The day starts at 3pm with a workshop about calligraphy by the Iranian artist Majid. We organize this workshop for groups connected to asylum, migration and reception organizations.contact amina@globearoma.be if you would like to reserve the workshop for your group.

At 5pm, the workshop will be followed by the projection of a film ‘L’atelier du calligraphe’ realized by Natalia Duque Quintero. Mohamed Hammam, a retired calligrapher, likes to be around people, to talk, to smoke and to share. He goes every day to his studio in the center of Cairo to preserve “the youth of his soul”. He and his friends are observed through the prism of the changes that are shaking Cairo. Between 6pm and 8pm is the time when you can come and enjoy food prepared by cooks from our community (at democratic prices). Today Mimouna Amri is cooking rice with chicken, grilled vegetables and a lovely salad.

Starting from 8 pm we invite you to a multilingual standup comedy evening. ‘Laughter for All’ will only use 4 languages out of the many many many languages that are been spoken in Brussels. We present comedians who will spread joy and laughter in Arabic: Kaoutar Berne, English: Délia Tou, Dutch: Alyce Sevink, French: Bénin Imfura, and silent comedy of Mr. Beige (Barry Cullen).

The gig will be followed by a live concert by Kaspy Ndia (9:30pm).
