Landscape Orchestra seeks a musical answer to the question of how to represent departure, journey and arrival. First of all, the play revisits the landscapes we pass through on our way to better and different. A series of portraits show people for whom the world is not obvious but is therefore not any less poetic. In an increasingly mobile and technological world, getting closer to people can be a challenge, and consolation may be a luxury. Landscape Orchestra therefore asks us to consider the viewpoints from which we look at each other, and the expectations we have of each other.

Niko Hafkenscheid, Hedvig Biong and Pablo Castilla joined a dozen Globe Aroma creatives to work on a piece of music. They will then spend a year making a soundtrack about their migration journey using simple chords, rhythms and melodies.

The first three performances are over. If you missed them, you can visit Nona Arts Centre in Mechelen on 27 November.
