ESPACE FXMME * EXTRA MUROS

Ongoing since 2022, Extra Muros is a project which aims to expand Espace Fxmme beyond the walls of Globe Aroma. It offers new opportunities to women who are interested in developing skills, connecting with different institutions and individuals, and creating a dialogue that feeds the fields of research, employment, education, and culture.

By taking artistic activities to asylum and migration organizations around Belgium, Extra Muros responds to the needs of women who might have difficulties traveling to visit Globe Aroma in Brussels.

The activities organized and implemented at asylum centers and shelters all work within an artistic context. So far, Extra Muros has held workshops around textile through which women have learned to work on different textile techniques such as embroidery, weaving, and batik.
