On March 19, Art For All goes to Nowruz: Homayoun-Sakhi & friends.

Bozar and Klara Festival celebrate the Persian New Year festival Nowruz with four artists reviving their musical tradition. Homayoun Sakhi has been hailed as “the most innovative rubab player of his generation”. In his hands, Afghanistan’s national instrument sounds improbably virtuosic. Afghan tabla player Siar Hashimi also takes the tabla to new heights with his improvisational talent. They share the stage with, among others, singer Ulzhan Baibussinova, one of the only female performers of Kazakh oral poetry or Zhyrau. Klara Festival is the annual rendezvous with top musical performers! For a fortnight, the best soloists and orchestras, from baroque to jazz to contemporary music, fill the Palace with the sounds of masterpieces from the repertoire.

We meet up with the group at Globe Aroma at 2pm.
