With his sculptures, small theaters of limbs and faces, Ali Almir represents the complexity of human feelings. His creatures – in perpetual tension between movement and stasis – show a range of emotions that spans from pride to discomfort, from sadness to fear. In the end, the inner conflicts – visible in the eyes, wrinkles, and mouths of Ali’s characters – are what unites us as humans.
