The Dowry – work in progress

Ttamo (Tamara Mamulashvili) and Tamila (Tengo Eminashvili) share the work in progress of their first-ever performative work The Dowry. The work is based on The Knight in the Panther’s Skin, an epic poem from Georgian medieval literature, and reread from a queer perspective. Unlike in the original, the two main characters, Tariel and Avtandil, fall in love with each other – a twist that offers a new perspective on the poem, exploring themes of love, identity, and the challenges of living in a society that discriminates against the LGBTQ+ community.
