Sea is for stories, Tea is for telling
Sea is for Stories, Tea is for Telling is the annual storytelling programme supported by the community of artists, art lovers and cultural workers in and around Globe Aroma. We explore which stories we share, which we lose or which we do not (yet) tell. Who is heard? Which stories are erased at borders or by Europe’s migration policy? And how do we break that open? How do we keep the art of storytelling alive, from oral traditions to new performative forms?
Stories, like people, move across borders. Stories arise along the way and in communities that are reinventing themselves. We explore how stories can become care, resistance and solidarity and how they can represent a different way of living together.
In the first week of December, we invite you to come and listen, tell, write, pass on, doubt, knit thoughts, eat and imagine together with the many people who walk through the doors of Globe Aroma. Expect performative try-outs, speculative writing sessions, dinners in the Globe Aroma studio, intimate storytelling moments and dancing stories that push boundaries and build communities.
