Open Studio Day ©Navid Fayaz

On Saturday, the 17th of May, Globe Aroma opened its studio doors and invited an external audience to experience the creative chaos the artistic workplace is filled with. The visitors got to snoop around in the ateliers and were invited to explore the artistic process of Nastasya Kharitonova,  WE218ƎW , Hamada Elkept, Hussein Shamia, Feria, Pavel Tikhomirov, Ismail Matar, Tatiana Zubieta, Habib Saher, უშნო ushno and Liaison Music. In this way people could meet the artists behind the works and see their works in progress.

On that day, people could also see the  “How to pee?”-expo, showing the designs of our future toilets and proposing an open-minded reflection on toilet culture. From 6pm everyone was invited to join the Soft Apero at our cosy courtyard, to enjoy a drink, casual conversations and a DJ set by Liaison Music w/ DJ Ami.

Atelier in Beeld was an initiative from Kunstwerkt, different artists and ateliers spread across Brussels and Flanders participated. This year, we had teamed up with our neighbours to propose a parcours—by bike or on foot—connecting studios and atelier-friends. The parcours was accessible through an online digital map realised thanks to the support of VGC: https://planatelier.vgc.be/
