Writing with a tree branch balanced on paper, drawing while juggling balls dipped in ink, throwing pieces of charcoal on a canvas to create a shape… Fabian Krestel explores new playful ways of translating movement visually, using juggling as a tool for pictorial creation. Through the precision of the two-handed movements and the geometry of the lines and points used, he invents an astonishing artistic grammar that finds a way between process and product. The audience witnesses – and even participates in – the marriage between a circus discipline and a drawing technique. The figures created by juggling are then seen as works of art in themselves. A captivating work-in-progress, somewhere between performance and exhibition.
