How to Host & Support Theatre Makers in a Context of Displacement
This session aims to gather insights into the current situation of theatre artists working in contexts of displacement — exile, migration — and to explore how we can collectively build alliances and support structures that sustain their artistic practice and strengthen their connection with the cultural field in Brussels and beyond.
Bringing together artists, professionals, institutions, and cultural actors who are engaged with these questions, we will share experiences, identify needs, and imagine collective strategies.
We propose three interconnected topics:
-
Exploring the challenges theatre artists face while working in contexts of displacement and the kinds of support they need
-
Mapping existing programmes and initiatives that address these needs, and identifying gaps
-
Imagining the first concrete steps of a collaborative chain of support that could strengthen the artistic journeys of these artists
The session will be in English.
This session is by invitation. However, if you feel connected with the topics and wish to join, please contact Alice Ciresola via alice@globearoma.be.
