(APPLIED ARTS, GRAPHIC DESIGN PRODUCT DESIGN, INTERIOR DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE, TEXTILES)

This tour (in French and English) of the ‘Untold Stories’ exhibition is about the (in)visibility and professionalisation of women. We will discuss femininity and women in design and history, and through collages and 3D creations, we will put images into words.

‘Untold Stories’ outlines the many paths and untold stories of more than 50 female designers and creative women active in Belgium between 1880 and 1980. It highlights the creativity and innovation of these women, often unrecognised and underappreciated, in the applied arts (textiles, product design, graphic design, ceramics, etc.) Based on a thematic approach thematically, well-known names alongside anonymous figures working in the shadow of industrial, domestic or colonial contexts. Femininity and gender issues.
