This new version is set in war-torn Tbilisi in the 90s. In the midst of these dramatic events, Alfred and Violetta must overcome many obstacles in the name of their love. Alfred, an astrophysicist, is due to return to Italy for a symposium. But before he can return, civil war breaks out in Georgia. Unable to reach his homeland, he is forced to support himself by singing in the streets. “Tbiliso”, the hymn that pays homage to his city, is all that ties him to it…
