Pavel Tikhomirov
Pavel Tikhomirov is a contemporary visual artist. He was born in Russia, lived in Ukraine for many years, and he is now based in Belgium.
Pavel began his creative career as a photographer and fashion designer. His brand, Idle Idol, was showcased at Ukraine Fashion Week and featured in Vogue, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, and other leading fashion magazines.
Since 2012, he has been working with collage. Initially, his work was inspired by fashion and pop culture, using magazine cutouts as his primary material. Over time, his focus shifted
towards social themes that resonate with the present moment. Today, Pavel incorporates his own photographs alongside images from vintage magazines and books, collected from flea
markets and second-hand bookstores.
For Pavel, collage is a way to convey the state of a person navigating the chaos of the information age, constantly processing endless streams of data. His works suggest that
human life itself is a kind of collage, composed of interiors, streets, objects, and seemingly incidental fragments of the world around us.
Currently, Pavel is part of the artistic workplace at Globe Aroma and is working in a mixed-media practice that combines photography, collage, painting, and embroidery.
