On Friday November 25, we are invited to Berlin by the Brussels\u00a0Region (in the framework of social, socio-cultural and artistic collaborations between Berlin and Brussels). The main goal of this invite is to create international alliances and a solidarity network for social justice. We thought it would be a good idea to give a workshop so that possible organisations and colleagues could get to know us and our practices. For this workshop we want to invite organisations and art initiatives that work in similar fields (human rights, womxn rights, co-creation platforms, intersectional feminism), to meet up in a convivial way, exchange ideas, craftwomanship and solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the occasion of\u00a0November 25<\/b>, a day for the fight against violence against women, we are organizing a series of\u00a0Stitch n’ Bitch<\/i>\u00a0Workshop to prepare for the demonstration day and express our solidarity with women in Iran and everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop is organized as a follow-up to the\u00a0Getting Softer<\/a>\u00a0project.
\nSince November 2021, Espace Fxmme has been practicing weaving, embroidery and patchwork as a process of sharing skills, memories and stories of our bodies in diaspora\/relocations.\u00a0We are proud of how the process of weaving and embroidery can also create a strong sisterhood among us and make us feel like a community that can be welcoming and invited to share and learn.\u00a0Since last year, the members of Espace Fxmme have hosted on several occasions and traveled to various places in and outside Belgium, sharing their needles and threads with others to sew sisterhood while exchanging stories and sharing the feeling of joy, healing together. and solidarity.\u00a0In the process of co-creation, our small community is a gesture of transnational feminism that is a necessity in this world experiencing mass migration and globalization.\u00a0Our stings are small but important in the fight against marginalizing, controlling or ignoring women and non-binary bodies.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
