Trying Things Out @ Théâtre de la Vie

April 10th was all about Trying Things Out at Théâtre de la Vie, where seven artists active in Globe Aroma’s workplace shared their practices with an audience. One after another, the artists presented a fragment, a try-out, or an excerpt of their work — all pieces still in research and taking shape.

Husein Ali Abu Shammala took us on a musical journey through Arab heritage, blended with contemporary sounds; Rémi Sarmini brought to the stage the complex relationship between a mother and her son, experimenting with multilingualism; Nastasya Kharytonova paid tribute to her grandmother, combining storytelling, cooking, and sculpting. Queenvanillaice’s drag performance reflected on war and its impact on families, lip-syncing to Georgian traditional songs; Samar Kokach explored themes of motherhood and the impact of revolution on her life; WE218ƎW amazed us with an upcycled costume-sculpture animated by a subtle choreography. Finally, DJ AMI wrapped up the evening by turning the stage into a dance floor.

The event was realized in collaboration with Théâtre de la Vie.
