SUMMER OF GLOBE 2021: FRAN KOUROUMA (Lecture)

** Reading of an excerpt from the book “Notre Soleil – par les côtes du Maghreb” by its author, Fran Kourouma, member of the Globe Aroma community, in which he retraces his journey from Guinea Conakry to Belgium. This reading will be followed by a discussion with Fran Kourouma.

Fran Kourouma:

I am just a 25 year old man, telling what I have survived in a dark world. And as my mother says: “Only the two people who left their fields late know the hiding place of their Daba”.

Ik ben een jongeman van slechts 25 jaar, ik vertel over wat ik overleefd heb in een duistere wereld. En zoals mijn moeder zegt: “Alleen de twee mensen die laat van hun akkers kwamen, kennen de schuilplaats van hun Daba”.
