KNOWLEDGE SHARING

Photographic documentation &  Online Archiving of (your) artworks

Globe Aroma organizes within the framework of the project “Learning to say goodbye” *  various moments where we share knowledge about documenting and archiving artworks.

11 + 12 MARCH

Do you already have experience in documenting and digitally storing artworks and would you like to share this knowledge with others? Then you are welcome at this two-day moment:

MARCH 11 | 3 pm – 6 pm | Acquaintance

  1. DOCUMENTATION

What is the best way to take photos with a smartphone? How do you work with a camera on a tripod? What is the best light for photographing a work? At what distance? What are the best settings on my device? etc …

In a group we look at what knowledge is available among the participants and together we investigate how to achieve the best results depending on the material available.

  1. ARCHIVING

Where do you best keep your photos? On a hard drive? A cloud system? Immediately on a website? A tumblr page or are you creating a slideshow on YouTube?

We consult with each other about the possibilities and what experiences the participants have. What is the most efficient way to store and share digital information? Or are there several?

MARCH 12 | 1 pm – 6 pm | Shooting in a studio

With the participants, we build a professional photo studio at Globe Aroma and we teach each other, from our experience, how to best photograph works of art in this setting.

At the end of these two days we will look for the best way to pass on our shared knowledge to others and who can be there at what times (see part 2)
– 22 + 24 | MARCH 26 & 1 | APRIL 2 –

Do you have little or no experience in documenting and digitally storing (your) artworks and would you like to acquire more knowledge about them? Then you are welcome on one of these days:

MARCH 22 | 3.30 pm – 6 pm | Acquaintance

Are you an artist and would you like to learn how to capture and archive your work photographically in the best possible way? Then visit Globe Aroma and together with other artists and photographers we discuss the best possible techniques and ways for you.

 24 | MARCH 26 & APRIL 2 | 10 am – 6 pm | Workshops

Come along on one or more of these four days to learn, under the guidance of other artists and photographers, how to photograph and store (your) artworks in the best possible way. Depending on the time and interest you have, we teach you how to work with a smartphone and a digital camera in different settings.
